CHGA Prom
girls get DOLLED UP & guys get DAPPER for the PROM!
The 6th annual Covenant House Georgia Prom was held on
July 23, 2010 for sixty five of Covenant House Georgia’s youth and their guests.
Many of Atlanta’s homeless and at-risk youth don’t have the
privilege of experiencing a “normal” teenage life. Experiences such as school
team sports or high school graduation just are not apart of most of the lives
these youth lead. The Covenant House Georgia Prom gives youth the opportunity to
have one night of feeling like a “normal” teenager. Girls get dolled up and guys
get dapper, all to dance the night away. The prom is hosted annually by CHGA
and community business donations.
The Prom participants are students of the Community Service Center,
residents of the Crisis Shelter and Rights of Passage program. At the
event, youth are recognized for their accomplishments within the programs and a
Prom Queen and King are crowned.
