Assists the Human Resources Manager in managing and meeting the goals and expectations for all CHGA’s Human Resources functions and requirements

Reports To: Human Resources Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Performs searches and screens for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, and/or employee referrals.
. Acts as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process potential candidates including but not limited to interns, contract employees, AmeriCorps members, and AARP volunteers.
. Reviews and evaluates applicant qualifications according to established governing bodies’ guidelines.
. Conducts prescreening interviews for qualified candidates & inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, and promotion opportunities.
. Screens qualified job applicants and coordinate with the hiring supervisor to schedule and conduct face to face interviews.
. Coordinates functions relating to the pre-employment process such as proficiency testing, references and background checks.
. Prepares and submits documents for new staff files and maintains ongoing employee files. .
. Processes new hires in HR database and continually updates with most up to date information.
. Enrolls eligible employees in CHGA’s benefits program.
. Completes Georgia New Hire registrations and I-9 enrollment in E-Verify
. Maintain and monitor for accuracy all aspects of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
. Keeps employee documents filed and maintains files for HR compliance.
. Works in partnership with the PQI Manager to ensure HR record compliance.
. Answers and responds to employee questions and requests.
. Processes internal and external calls and emails; responds to requests in a timely manner.
. Completes all requests for employment verifications.
. Processing all departmental incoming mail
. Partners with HR Manager for the planning, communication/marketing, and execution of staff events, hiring fairs, and community partnerships.
. Creates and distributes documents to staff as needed.
. Copying and keeping sufficient folders for new hire documents
. Scheduling employee events such as Tasty Tuesday; notifying staff of events; putting up appropriate signage
. Updates and monitors the employee roster, scheduling software, and training hours of all staff members, AmeriCorps members, and interns.
. Processes intern applications for all CHGA departments where requested.
. Ordering supplies, flowers, greeting cards, and staff acknowledgments as needed.
. Order and distribute employee badges.
. Enrolls new employees in benefits.
. Processes Personnel Status Forms for approval and Finance notification.
. Completes reports and spreadsheets as assigned.
. Completes and email bi-weekly newsletter to staff.
. Maintains donated gift card log / tracking / distribution.
. Maintains and updates Scan Card System; distribute/order scan cards as needed.
. Upholds CHGA standards of conduct, policies and procedures at all times.
. Attends and participates in all scheduled and mandatory meetings.
. Ability to:
+ establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, representatives of other agencies, and the public
+ be flexible and work as a team player
+ effectively communicate verbally with both internal and external individuals and/or businesses
+ work sitting, standing, and/or walking a minimum of 8 hours per day/shift
+ lift and move items typically weighing 5-35 pounds
. All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; 2 years of experience within Human Resources; PC/Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
