AmeriCorps Covenant House Georgia

AmeriCorps Service Members at Covenant House Georgia assist with all aspects of our programs to help young people experiencing homeless and escaping trafficking in metro Atlanta and beyond.

Duties Include:

  • Facilitating learning community sessions each week
  • Designing lesson plans and administering 1:1 education & vocational advising.
  • Empowering youth to attain employment by coordinating and exeuting job readiness workshops and related programs.
  • Assisting youth by connecting them with resources & benefits.
  • Helping residential advisers & case managers with youth intake documentation and creating goals with each youth. 
  • Coordinating with CHGA's volunteer team to plan orientation, service activities for youth and outside groups, and special events.

Requirements & Details: 

AmeriCorps service members are required to have a high school diploma or GED and must be age 17 or older. They will need to complete 1700 hrs to be considered full time and receive the Segal Education Award. They will also receive a living allowance, health benefits, and child care allowance if eligible.
