Tentatively beginning again in May:
Seeking volunteers to purchase ingredients and prepare a meal for our youth. We have designed this opportunity to provide a sense of family and community for our youth while sharing a hot meal with community volunteers. If you would like, you can host an activity after the meal such as baking cookies, playing games, etc. Click here to sign up for this volunteer opportunity- we recommend it for groups of 5 - 12 adults.

Use your expertise to host a class and teach our youth a variety of life skills. Classes can include topics such as baking & cooking, creating a monthly budget, art, poetry, music, etc. *This opportunity is available in our Community Service Center from 11:00am – 12:00pm, or in our shelter and cottage locations in the evening. Schedule of available opportunities: Tuesday – Thursday from 11:00am-12:00pm or 7:30-8:30pm (cooking classes take place 6:30-8:30pm in our cottages)

Our youth have a set schedule each week where they work, go to school or participate in our educational and vocational programs. The afternoons are their time to do something fun and creative! As a volunteer you can host a jewelry making class, teach our youth Zumba, hold a sports tournament, or do another fun activity! Schedule of available opportunities: Tuesday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00pm

Our clothing and toiletry closets are in constant need of loving care! Seeking volunteers to help us sort our in-kind donations as they come in and help us to keep them organized so that they are easily accessible to our youth. Our executive staff would love your support around the office! We are in need of assistance with database management, large mailings, answering and forwarding calls, filing, etc., and event support as needed. Schedule of available opportunities: Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm (Opportunity depends on mailings and events taking place.)

Help youth choose clothing in our closets. For many of our youth, they arrive with very little and looking for clothing in a room can be stressful. We love when volunteers come alongside them and help them choose items that will help them be confident. This opportunity is in the evenings at 7:30pm.

We are blessed to have a 7 acre campus within the city limits of Atlanta. We love that it gives us the opportunity to have flowers, gardens, and beautiful fields- and we rely on volunteers to help us maintain our space. If you love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of a landscaped yard- we would love your help! This opportunity is listed online, but is open to a volunteers availability. Reach out to our team after orientation!

To volunteer as an indiviudal at Covenant House Georgia, you will need to be over 21 years old and sign up for and attend an orientation through Volunteer Hub.

If you would like to participate in our Prepare and Share a Meal Program, orientation is not required.

We charge a fee of $25 for each background check. The fee can be paid by cash, check made out for Covenant House Georgia, or by donating online and putting volunteer background check in the "how did you hear about us" space.

No. All volunteers must submit to a background check that we conduct in-house in accordance with Covenant House International's policies.

Unfortunately, Covenant House Georgia cannot approve court ordered community service.

We require that all on campus volunteers and guests be over the age of 21. If you'd like to engage your family, we hope you will consider doing an off campus drive or project to advocate for and benefit the youth of Covenant House GA.

Due to HIPAA Laws and our Confidentiality Policy, all volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.

If you are under 21, you can still get involved by holding a drive for urgently needed items to help our youth succeed in the next steps of their journey towards productive adulthood. Please contact our Volunteer Team at chgavolunteer@covenanthouse.org before hosting a drive or creating outreach kits to determine our current needs.
