MEET ANYARIS, FUTURE CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER
When 18-year-old Anyaris became homeless last September, he was moving from place to place while continuing his education. His school connected him with Covenant House Georgia, and a few months later, he found a home in our Rights of Passage program.
Now, he has a safe place to live while he focuses on his education and his future.
“I don't have to worry about my housing. The only thing I got to worry about is getting money, food, and education.”
Anyaris has been interested in computers since middle school, when he spent his free time coding games and experimenting with different projects. During 11th grade, he took college dual-enrollment courses and even worked with his teacher to repair a computer. Today, he's pursuing his education with a career in cybersecurity in mind, hoping to protect people and organizations from hackers.
For Anyaris, Covenant House Georgia is a place where he can grow, build relationships, and think about what's next.

When you're experiencing homelessness, staying focused on school and planning for the future can be difficult when your basic needs aren't secure. Covenant House Georgia provides young people with housing, case management, educational support, food, and other resources as they work toward independence.
For Anyaris, that support means having somewhere safe to come home to. He shares, “I am grateful that I can come back and actually be at a—be somewhere that I—that's not on the streets.”
And it means having people who believe in him. His case manager, Ms. Jackie, describes Anyaris as courageous and self-motivated. She shares, “I have no doubt he's going to make his dreams come true.”
School is back in session, but the need continues all year long.
