In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we are hosting a national virtual Sleep Out this April. Families and individuals who are practicing social distancing can have a meaningful experience right in your home, hearing from frontline staff live at Covenant House shelters across the country who continue to provide shelter and safety to youth without homes. Take action to raise critical funds and awareness to meet the immediate needs of our shelters and young people facing homelessness in this time of uncertainty.
Across the country, people of all ages and backgrounds will give up the warmth of their beds and the comfort of their homes to spend a night sleeping outside, just like thousands of kids with nowhere else to go do every night.
We are not pretending we're homeless. We Sleep Out to show our support for those who are. For one night, we won't stay indoors while so many others remain outside. And we will use the experience to raise awareness about the ever-growing population of young people who face homelessness.
Leading up to your Sleep Out, you will raise money that will help Covenant House give youth without homes shelter and the help they need to become independent adults. If you've never fundraised before, don't worry. We'll support you every step of the way with an easy-to-use fundraising web page, online tools, and personalized coaching from our staff.
Sleep Out America is an engaging way for young people to learn about the hardships that people their own age face, and take an active role in giving their solidarity and support. We'll provide suggestions for family-friendly activities to do leading up to and during your Sleep Out to make it a meaningful event for all involved.
