On March 19th, Covenant House Georgia took part in a national, virtual Sleep Out along with Covenant House International and 7 other Covenant House sites across the country. We combined our annual Women Unite and Young Professionals Sleep Out events, invited families to join the movement, and in total 80 Georgia sleepers made an incredible collective impact for youth facing homelessness and trafficking in our city! As we all continue to do our part to protect our communities from COVID-19 and with active construction on Covenant House Georgia's campus scheduled through the Summer, the Spring sleepers joined an interactive, virtual program from home comprised of breakout sessions, staff and alumni youth interviews, all for a night of education and advocacy alongside their fellow Covenant House community. Then, sleepers braved an uncomfortable night of sleep from their own backyards, garages, living room floors, cars, and more, to stand in solidarity with young people facing homelessness and trafficking.
Thank you to our Sleepers and all who supported the Sleep Out, raising over $76,000 for the resilient youth at Covenant House Georgia. This support provides young people continued access to 24/7 care and resources through our programs. Our youth are more than their past, they are the future. And at Covenant House Georgia, young people can continue to strive towards their goals and dreams knowing they have an entire community of support on their side.
Join Covenant House Georiga for an unforgettable Sleep Out event on Nov. 21-22, 2024!
