Born and raised in Georgia, 22-year-old Lorenzo has a sunny personality that immediately puts others at ease. He's been staying with Covenant House Georgia (CHGA) for five months as he finds his path to stability.
During his time living in our P.J. Garcia Youth Shelter, Lorenzo has delved into a variety of educational workshops and opportunities offered by CHGA. Lorenzo shares:
This is Lorenzo's first holiday season at CHGA. He shares that his favorite part of the season is spending time with family, "just being there for each other."
When youth come through our doors, we immediately meet their basic needs: a hot meal, a shower, clean clothes, a bed, medical attention, and a safe place to stay.
From there, youth are matched with a CHGA Case Manager to map out next steps and create a plan for their future. Youth can access on-site physical & mental health care, nourishing meals and snacks, education and workforce readiness programs, life skills classes, and more.
At the core of our programs is a commitment to offer each young person like Lorenzo unconditional love and absolute respect as they create their brighter futures.
